Turkey, Syria death tally goes over 7,500
The powerful earthquake that shook Turkey and Syria a day prior left over 7,500 people dead according to the latest updates, while another 45,000 have been injured.
As per officials, around 5,500 deaths have been reported in Turkey, while more than 31,000 people have been wounded. Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar shared today that approximately 7,500 of the country's soldiers have joined the rescue operations, while another 1,500 military personnel will be added to the team tomorrow.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared a three-month state of emergency following the disaster.
