Russia to send 80% of oil export to 'friendly' nations in 2023

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak revealed on Monday that the country will continue rerouting oil shipments to "friendly" countries, directing nearly 80% of the supplies to these nations in 2023.

"As for supplies to states that support illegitimate price restrictions, here our position is widely known and remains unchanged: such countries will not receive Russian oil," Novak told the Energy Policy magazine.

The deputy prime minister argued that "despite external constraints," moving ahead with Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects remains top priority, and emphasized that there is "potential" for growth in gas supplies to the Asia-Pacific region. "To this end, Gazprom ... is working on accelerating the construction of the Far East route, as well as the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline," he added.
