Europe opens higher as traders await data

Major stock indexes in Europe kicked off the Monday session higher, as investors wait for major economic data scheduled for this week. The final report on Eurozone consumer confidence in February will be revealed today, while inflation and manufacturing updates will be released in the following days.

The DAX rose 0.93% at the opening bell, as Zalando increased by 1.82%. The Euro Stoxx 50 jumped 0.74%, with Adidas gaining 2.49%, while the CAC 40 added 0.82%. The best performer was Michelin, going up 2.62%. London's FTSE advanced by 0.53%, as Rolls-Royce Holdings pulled the index up 3.01%.

The euro traded flat against the dollar to go for 1.05475 at 8:58 am CET, while the pound gained 0.09% compared to the greenback to sell for 1.19538 concurrently.
