Bayer posts FY2022 sales of €50.7 billion
Bayer AG announced on Tuesday that its group sales for the full-year 2022 came in at €50.7 billion, up 15% when compared to the same timeframe a year prior. For the reported period, year over year, net income from continuing and discontinued operations skyrocketed 320% to €4.2 billion, while core earnings per share jumped 22% to €7.94.
In the fourth quarter of fiscal 2022, on an annual level, sales rose 8% to €12 billion, net income plunged 47% to €611 million, and core earnings per share increased 7% to €1.35.
"Despite huge challenges, we were able to deliver outstanding performance in 2022," CEO Werner Baumann commented. The dividend payout saw a substantial increase and now stands at €2.40 per share for 2022, compared to €2 per share for 2021. According to the full-year 2023 outlook, sales at closing rates are expected to stand between €50 and €51 billion, while earnings per share are anticipated to be between €7.20 and €7.40.
