Europe opens lower with all eyes on ECB's minutes

European stock exchanges opened the trading session on Thursday registering losses, as investors braced for European Central Bank's minutes from the last monetary meeting, slated for release later today.

On the data front, preliminary report on Eurozone's inflation as well as unemployment rate in the region will be published.

The Euro Stoxx 50 dropped 0.53%, with Anheuser-Busch InBev SA going down by 3.74%. Frankfurt's DAX fell 0.81%, as Covestro AG tumbled 5.26%. The CAC 40 lost 0.78%. STMicroelectronics NV was its worst performer, plummeting 5.27%. London's FTSE slipped 0.40%, with Beazley PLC plunging 6.37%.

The euro traded 0.30% lower against the greenback, to sell at $1.06345 at 9:01 am CET. At the same time, the British pound flipped 0.36% versus the dollar, changing hands to $1.19760.
