Salesforce allegedly lays off more employees
Salesforce Inc. slashed more of its employees, mostly in the marketing and sales sectors, the Business Insider reported on Thursday citing sources familiar with the matter.
According to the sources, hundreds of jobs were cut in locations including New York, Atlanta, and San Francisco. One of the individuals noted that this new round of layoffs also affected workers of the Slack business unit.
At the beginning of January, the company revealed its business restructuring plans, in which it stated that around 10% of its workforce will be slashed, which amounts to approximately 8,000 workers. A Salesforce spokesperson confirmed that today's job cuts are a part of this plan. CEO Marc Benioff (pictured) remarked earlier in the full-year 2023 earnings report that the company had "one of the highest cash flows of any enterprise software company our size."
