Putin: Gazprom to connect European, Asian pipelines
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Tuesday that PJSC Gazprom is considering merging the gas pipeline networks in the Far East and Europe in light of the potential launch of Power of Siberia-2.
"Gazprom has an idea to connect the European gas pipeline system and then the Far Eastern gas pipeline system," Putin said in a meeting on the development of Russia's Far East. He explained that export prices being higher than domestic ones makes it a beneficial investment.
The leader shared that the median gasification of the country stands at 73%, with the eastern part of Russia lagging behind due to the underdeveloped gas infrastructure.
