Boeing: Aircraft finance may reach pre-virus level in 2023
The Boeing Company stated in its Commercial Aircraft Finance Market Outlook (CAFMO) released on Wednesday it expects aircraft financing to reach the pre-coronavirus pandemic level in 2023.
"This positive trend reaffirms that our industry's fundamentals are strong and aircraft financiers and investors are well positioned as travel continues to recover," Rich Hammond, vice president of Boeing's Customer Finance, commented.
Boeing added that the majority of its airplanes made in 2022 were funded with cash thanks to "strong operational performance and de-leveraging efforts by customers." It also noted that "[w]hile cash funding will continue to play a significant part in delivery financing, the use of capital markets, bank debt and export credit is expected to expand."
