Microsoft unveils AI-powered 365 Copilot
Microsoft Corporation presented on Thursday the Microsoft 365 Copilot, a so-called "copilot for work" powered by OpenAI's GPT-4. "With our new copilot for work, we’re giving people more agency and making technology more accessible through the most universal interface — natural language," Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella stated.
The tech giant stressed that the new product "combines the power of large language models (LLMs) with your data in the Microsoft Graph and the Microsoft 365 apps to turn your words into the most powerful productivity tool on the planet." Microsoft noted the copilot will help users across its apps, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, "to unleash creativity, unlock productivity and uplevel skills" by using simple prompts to create initial drafts of their content.
In addition to the Copilot, the company also announced Business Chat which scans all users' business data and apps to "surface the information and insights you need from a sea of data" and save them "valuable time."
