WTI slumps nearly 3% on US inventory build-up

Crude futures declined further on Friday after data showed an unexpected increase in oil inventories in the United States, seemingly dimming hopes that consumption of the commodity could be growing.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for April contracts slumped 2.94% to sell at $66.34 per barrel at 10:31 am ET, while Brent for May settlements dropped 2.77% to $72.65 per barrel.
