Google CEO reportedly warns staff Bard may face issues

Google's parent Alphabet Inc. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sundar Pichai warned the employees the artificial intelligence (AI)-powered chatbox Bard could experience issues as the number of people that use it increases, CNBC reported on Tuesday.

"As more people start to use Bard and test its capabilities, they'll surprise us. Things will go wrong," Pichai's e-mail sent to Google's staff read. "But the user feedback is critical to improving the product and the underlying technology."

Pichai also said 80,000 people contributed to testing Bard. He told them to "be proud of this work and the years of tech breakthroughs that led us here, including our 2017 Transformer research and foundational models such as PalM [pathways language model] and BERT [bidirectional encoder representations from transformers]." However, Pichai noted that Google is "still in the early stages of a long Al journey."
