Trump's lawyer says he's sad, not scared about indictment

Former United States President Donald Trump is "sad," but "not scared" about the potential indictment he could be facing soon, his lawyer Alina Habba told reporters on Tuesday, according to NBC News. Trump "has been completely unfairly treated" and indicting him would be a "great mistake," according to Habba.

Over the weekend, Trump said he expects to be arrested on March 21 over a potential indictment by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office.

District Attorney Alvin Bragg is investigating payments Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen made in 2016 to an adult film actress to keep her from disclosing her alleged 2006 affair with the Republican politician. Trump supposedly reimbursed Cohen and listed the money he paid Cohen as legal expenses, which could qualify as a felony if Bragg's office proves that the payments violated federal campaign finance laws.
