Putin concerned West trying to build 'new axis'
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday expressed his concerns about the formation of a new axis between Western powers, which he likened to the alliance between Germany and Japan during World War II.
In an interview with the Russia-1 television channel, Putin pointed to the new strategic concept developed by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in 2022, which includes plans to develop relations with countries in the Asia-Pacific region, as evidence of this trend. "That is why Western analysts, Western analysts themselves, not us, say that the West is starting to build a new axis, like the one that was created back in the 30s by the fascist regimes in Germany and Italy and militaristic Japan," Putin concluded.
