Vatican confirms Pope Francis hospitalized over pulmonary infection

Pope Francis has been hospitalized over a respiratory infection, the Vatican press service said on Wednesday.

Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni noted that the pope does not have COVID-19 but that tests showed he does have a respiratory infection that will "require some days of medical therapy." He came in for checks after experiencing "some breathing difficulties."
