Musk: Twitter to update recommendation algorithm regularly
Twitter Inc. CEO Elon Musk revealed that the platform "will be updating its recommendation algorithm based on user suggestions every 24 to 48 hours."
The social media company made most of its recommendation source code available on GitHub. "For this release, we aimed for the highest possible degree of transparency, while excluding any code that would compromise user safety and privacy or the ability to protect our platform from bad actors, including undermining our efforts at combating child sexual exploitation and manipulation. Today's release also does not include the code that powers our ad recommendations," Twitter explained in a blog post.
It also encouraged users to report on problems they notice and submit their own suggestions on how to make the recommendations algorithm better.
