Ten-year US Treasury yield up to one-month high
The yields on the 10-year and the two-year United States Treasury notes on Wednesday reached heights not seen since mid-March as market participants seemingly expected the Federal Reserve to raise the federal funds rate at least once again in 2023 and stick to that or a slightly higher level until late in the year.
Earlier in the day, the latest inflation reading from the United Kingdom showed that price growth is not easing as fast as projected, which could have caused concern on the other side of the Atlantic as well.
The return on the 10-year Treasury note rose by four basis points to 3.612% at 10:11 am ET. The yield on the two-year note was up 3.6 basis points to 4.237% a minute later. The return on the 30-year bond increased by 2.4 basis points to 3.812% at 10:13 am ET.
