OpenAI's ChatGPT resumes operations in Italy

ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, announced Friday is resuming operations in Italy after the service was banned allegedly over privacy concerns. "We are pleased to resume offering ChatGPT in Italy," a message for users showed.

The approval comes just after the company completed significant security-related changes and agreed with the demands to comply with European privacy legislation, as Il Sole 24 Ore reported earlier. In addition, a few days ago, the company published that it was now possible to disable chat history on the platform.

"We hope this provides an easier way to manage your data than our existing opt-out process. When chat history is disabled, we will retain new conversations for 30 days and review them only when needed to monitor for abuse before permanently deleting," OpenAi said.
