8 people dead, 14 injured in 2nd Serbia shooting
At least eight people have died and 14 others were wounded in Belgrade's rural municipality of Mladenovac in the night between Thursday and Friday after an attacker opened fire on a policeman and his sister using an assault rifle.
According to Serbian national broadcaster B92, the police are currently pursuing 21-year-old Uros Blazic, a son of a member of the Serbian military. Children are said to be among those killed in the accident. Dozens of police and ambulance vehicles were registered in the area of the shooting labeled as a terrorist act by the Interior Ministry.
This attack and a series of other smaller incidents reported throughout Thursday follow a massive shooting in an elementary school in Belgrade downtown on Wednesday in which a 13-year-old boy killed eight classmates and a security guard using a high-magazine pistol stolen from his dad. The disaster is one of the worst shooting events ever reported in Serbia and the region.
