Bill Gates: Shopping sites, search engines to be replaced
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates argued on Monday that the development of the top AI agent would eventually replace search engines and online shopping websites.
Speaking at the AI Forward 2023 event hosted by Goldman Sachs in San Francisco, Gates explained that "you'll never go to a search site again. You'll never go to Amazon ... Whoever wins the personal agent, that's a big thing," the investor philanthropist told the public.
Microsoft's revamped Bing search engine surpassed 100 million daily active users earlier this month. Commenting on the AI breakthroughs, Gates added that he was impressed by the Inflection AI chatbot co-founded by Reid Hoffman, the American entrepreneur behind the business-oriented social network LinkedIn.
