Oracle’s Ellison said to fund Tim Scott's campaign
Oracle Corp's co-founder Larry Ellison (pictured) will spend millions of dollars to fund Tim Scott's 2024 presidential campaign in the United States, according to a report published by CNBC on Monday.
Ellison, the long-time Republican megadonor, allegedly already donated $30 million to Opportunity Matters Fund, a pro-Scott super PAC, to fund the run of the only Black Republican senator. The total donation is expected to double from last year, the report noted.
Scott officially announced the start of his campaign earlier today in South Carolina, with Ellison also present at the rally. The senator has about 1% of primary support, significantly lower than leading contenders former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
