US Treasury yields highest since March

Yields on several United States Treasury notes and bonds increased on Tuesday to highs last seen in March after another meeting between President Joe Biden and House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy ended without a clear agreement on how the government would avoid defaulting on its debt.

In addition, Federal Reserve officials estimated that more interest rate hikes could be coming this year.

The return on the 10-year Treasury note moved up 3.8 basis points to 3.757% at 8:47 am ET. The yield on the two-year note increased by 7.3 basis points to 4.395% a minute later. The return on the 30-year bond rose by three basis points to 4.001% at 8:49 am ET.
