Apple presents its AR-MR headset Apple Vision Pro
Apple Inc. revealed on Monday at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) its augmented reality (AR)-mixed reality (MR) headset Apple Vision Pro, which will be available early next year at a starting price of $3,499.
The headset, described as the company's largest release in years, enables the user's access to digital content in mixed reality. According to Apple Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tim Cook, the product represents a revolution in spatial technology. Once put, it shows first a homepage with applications that can be controlled with hands, eyes, or voice. The visuals also feature three-dimensional (3D) graphics.
In a special guest appearance, The Walt Disney Company (CEO) Bob Iger described Vision Pro as a "revolutionary platform that can make our vision a reality." He added Disney will provide content for the headset, with Disney+ being available from "day one." The headset will also feature some of Microsoft Corporation and Adobe Inc.'s apps.
