Russia to supply wheat to countries in need

Russia is committed to supplying wheat to countries in need despite its withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative, Elena Tyurina, director of the analytics department of the Russian Grain Union (RGU), told RIA Novosti.

Tyurina stated that deliveries have been ongoing and have grown since last year, with prices offered at a discount. She also emphasized that Russia can easily replace the estimated 10 million tons of wheat that Ukraine may not be able to export after the grain deal is officially terminated, noting that Russia holds a 22% share in global wheat exports.

Following an attack on the Crimean Bridge, earlier in July, Moscow decided to halt its participation in the grain deal.
