Roche's sales fall 8% ito 29.8B Swiss francs in H1

Roche said on Thursday that its sales stood at 29.8 billion Swiss francs in the first half of 2023, falling 8% compared to the same six-month period in 2022. At constant currency rates, the decline was 2%.

The pharmaceutical company's operating profit slid 15% year on year to 9.8 billion Swiss francs in the first half, while net income attributable to shareholders dropped 16% to 7.1 billion Swiss francs, or 8.87 Swiss francs per share. Core operating profit was 10.9 billion Swiss francs, while core EPA stood at 10.10 Swiss francs.

"In the first half of 2023, sales in the base business of both our divisions grew strongly, largely offsetting the impact of declining demand for COVID-19 products," CEO Thomas Schinkecker stated.
