Ten-year US Treasury yield highest since November 2022

The yield on the benchmark 10-year United States Treasury note on Wednesday rose to a level last seen in November 2022 after Fitch Ratings placed the US credit rating into a lower tier.

In addition, the increase in the number of jobs in the country's private sector was much higher than estimated, signaling more uncertainty about the persistence of future inflation and the Federal Reserve's next monetary policy moves.

The return on the 10-year Treasury note rose by 4.7 basis points to 4.094% at 10:29 am ET. The yield on the two-year note was up 0.2 basis points to 4.914% at the same time. The return on the 30-year bond jumped 8.5 basis points to 4.188% a minute later, the highest it has been since November 2022.
