30-year US Treasury yield highest since April 2011
Long-term United States Treasury yields continued to climb on Thursday with the return on the 30-year bond hitting its highest point since April 2011.
Earlier, the Federal Reserve's July monetary policy meeting records showed that there is a possibility that the policymakers might opt to hike interest rates further in the future.
The return on the 30-year bond jumped 6.1 basis points to 4.421% at 7:02 am ET. The return on the 10-year Treasury note increased by 5 basis points to 4.308% at the same time. Meanwhile, the yield on the two-year note fell 1.2 basis points to 4.968% simultaneously.
