Eurozone consumer confidence down in September
The consumer confidence in the euro area (EA20) stood at negative 17.8 percentage points in September, weakening by 1.8 percentage points from the figure recorded in the previous month, the European Commission revealed in its preliminary report released on Thursday.
For the entire European Union (EU27), the indicator went from negative 17.1 in August to negative 18.7 in September.
"Consumer confidence has fallen further below its long-term average," according to the commission.
