Starmer allegedly said he doesn't want to 'diverge' from EU
Labour Party Leader Keir Starmer said his party would not "want to diverge" from European Union standards on environment, work, food and other areas, Sky News reported on Thursday, citing a video of his appearance at a conference late last week in Canada.
If the United Kingdom and the EU cooperated more, "different ways of solving problems" would "become available," he was quoted as saying.
"There's a lot more common ground than you might think," Starmer allegedly added in what could be seen as a stronger-than-usual statement on his view of UK-EU ties, according to Sky News.
