WH: Baseline for peace in Ukraine is sovereignty
United States National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said on Thursday, citing US President Joe Biden, that "at the end of the day, the baseline for peace [in Ukraine] is particularly sovereignty and territorial integrity."
He continued by saying that's what President Biden and President Zelensky will speak about today in their meeting.
Responding to a question about what he hopes China's President Xi Jinping will communicate to Russian President Vladimir Putin about the need for peace in Ukraine, he said he would like to see every leader who goes and speaks to him reinforce that "sovereignty, as a basic proposition, is viable", adding that every country has to stand by these principles to move forward.
