Michel: Russia is in war to conquer Ukraine
European Council President Charles Michel claimed on Thursday that Russia is "undertaking a war to conquer its neighboring country," Ukraine.
Ukraine "never threatened" Russia but Moscow now shows "disdain for human life," according to Michel, who spoke before the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.
The European Union wants a multipolar world with more democracy and respect for human rights, but a "dangerous bipolar confrontation is threatening us," he warned. Michel also called on the international community to tackle challenges presented by climate issues and poverty.
