US, Japan, S. Korea vow to respond to Russia-N. Korea arms deal

The United States, Japan and South Korea committed to taking "stern measures" against any possible arms deal between Russia and North Korea, Yonhap reported on Saturday citing the South Korean Foreign Ministry. The allies' comments follow a visit by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to Russia, where he agreed to expand cooperation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The US State Secretary Antony Blinken (pictured right), Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa and South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin (left) met in New York and agreed that a deal between Moscow and Pyongyang would be "in violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions that Russia itself voted for."
