Lavrov calls West an 'empire of lies'
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in his speech before the UN General Assembly on Saturday condemned the "collective West" for allegedly rejecting the principle of equality. The foreign minister mirrored President Vladimir Putin's previous statements by describing the West as an "empire of lies."
Lavrov alleged that European and American nations make written and legally binding commitments that they don't fulfill. "Russia knows about this firsthand," he said.
