Lavrov: Russia will not consider ceasefire

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that, while Russia is prepared to engage in negotiations on Ukraine, it will not consider any ceasefire proposals because it "has already been deceived once."

Lavrov said Russia supports Ukraine's territorial integrity "under the conditions" of its Declaration of Independence adopted in 1991, under which it said it "would be a non-aligned country and would not enter into any military alliances." However, he said Ukraine's territorial integrity was "destroyed" by the regime that came into power after the Maidan revolution in 2014, "whose leaders declared war against their own people and began to bomb their own people."
