CNOOC completes drills at 100M ton oil field
The China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced on Sunday that it finished the work on drilling 177 wells at the Kenli 6-1 offshore oil field in the Bohai Sea, according to the Global Times. The company started the development project in December 2022, projecting peak production of approximately 36,100 barrels per day in 2024.
CNOOC said the entire field has a reserve of around 100 million tons. According to the Global Times, it is the "first large-size offshore oil field where mass drilling was deployed and finished in less than 2 years' time."
