Russia's Soyuz returns crew to Earth

Two Roscosmos cosmonauts, Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitry Petelin (pictured right), and a NASA astronaut, Frank Rubio (pictured left), safely returned to Earth on Wednesday after spending over a year in orbit.

The Russian Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft landed in its designated zone in Kazakhstan, marking an end to the longest expedition under the ISS program. The capsule that brought back the crew to Earth was a replacement launched in February, after a micrometeoroid damaged the original shuttle.

The crew's replacement arrived nearly two weeks ago.
