McCarthy welcomes Gaetz's attempt to remove him from office
United States House Speaker Kevin McCarthy responded to Representative Matt Gaetz's effort to oust him from his post.
"Bring it on," McCarthy stated after the Florida Republican filed a motion to vacate the speakership, citing disagreements over McCarthy's bipartisan approach to avoiding a government shutdown.
No speaker to date has ever been ousted by such a motion.
