Google launches new features for safer email
Google announced on Tuesday on its blog that, starting in 2024, it will introduce new forms of email protection that will help reduce the amount of spam mail users receive.
In particular, these changes will apply to bulk senders who send more than 5,000 emails per day to Gmail addresses. Google will require these senders to implement email authentication, make unsubscription easier, and ensure they are sending wanted emails.
"These practices should be considered basic email hygiene, and many senders already meet most of these requirements. For those who need help to improve their systems, we're sharing clear guidance before enforcement begins in February 2024," the company stated.
