WTI soars 3% amid Hamas-Israel conflict

Prices of oil futures increased after United States media reported that certain Iranian officials and Hamas may have been planning the October 7 attack on Israel, sparking further concerns that the war could spill over to other parts of the oil-rich region and result in supply disruptions of the commodity.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for settlements in November surged 2.92% to $85.21 per barrel, moments after soaring over 3.15% and Brent for deliveries in December jumped 2.80% to $86.94 per barrel at 12:24 am CET on Monday.
