EIA: US crude inventories up by 10.2 million barrels

Commercial crude oil inventories in the United States, not considering those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), increased by 10.2 million barrels to 424.2 million barrels in the week ending October 6, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) stated in its report published on Thursday.

Crude oil refinery inputs averaged 15.2 million barrels per day during the same week, 399,000 barrels per day less than the previous week's average. Refineries operated at 85.7% of their operable capacity. Meanwhile, gasoline production increased, averaging 9.7 million bpd.

Crude oil imports went up by 115,000 bpd week-on-week to average 6.3 million bpd. Total commercial petroleum inventories increased by 6.3 million barrels last week.
