Oil prices fall further as demand woes linger

Crude oil prices remained on a downward trend on Wednesday as uncertainty about its demand appeared to outweigh concerns about possible disruptions in the commodity supply, following the release of gloomy data that raised questions about crude oil consumption in both the United States and China.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for December contracts plummeted 1.58% to trade at $76.22 a barrel at 8:06 am ET. Brent for January deliveries dropped 1.42% to $80.61 per barrel.
