Oil up by 2% ahead of rig count update

The prices of oil futures jumped on Friday in anticipation of Baker Hughes's newest report on crude rig count in North America.

Meanwhile, the crisis in the Middle East continued, with Israel claiming that Hamas halted negotiations on the release of hostages.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for December's deliveries advanced by 1.92% at 9:40 am ET to sell for $74.36 per barrel. At the same time, Brent for settlements in January surged by 2.12% to go for $79.04 per barrel.
