US goods trade deficit up to $89.8B in October

The United States goods trade deficit increased to $89.8 billion in October, up 3.4% on a monthly basis, according to a preliminary report by the Census Bureau released on Wednesday.

Exports came in at $170.8 billion, decreasing by $3 billion compared to September. On the other hand, imports were unchanged and stood at $260.7 billion.

Wholesale inventories, adjusted for seasonal variations and trading-day differences, but not for price changes, landed at $899.4 billion, declining by 0.2% from September and by 2% compared to October 2022.
