Chisinau, Moldova--(Newsfile Corp. - November 29, 2023) - Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP), Europe's first e-Park, has reached a new milestone with over 1500 resident companies now as members of the park. This remarkable achievement signals the park's rapid growth since its founding just 5 years ago. The park is now host to companies originating from 38 countries, representing a fourfold growth over the last 5 years.

The park has seen notable growth over the years as a hub for tech companies to develop their ideas thanks to the opportunities it provides for tech companies. MITP aims to position Moldova as an emerging tech hub in Eastern Europe by providing a supportive environment for companies. Resident foreign companies now account for 40% of the park's employees. Moldova maintains its commitment to developing its tech ecosystem, focusing its efforts on reaching the next milestones through further expanding the number of resident companies and employees, with a goal of at least doubling these figures.

Out of over 1,500 resident companies, in September, the park hosted companies with investors from 38 countries. Reaching 38 countries represented in the park marks another important milestone in the goal of further diversifying company provenience, with a target of attracting companies from at least 50 countries over time. Growth has included companies newly establishing there from countries not previously represented.

The countries currently with the most resident companies are the USA, Romania, Germany, the UK, and Russia, based on number of companies. However, indicators like number of employees and business operations vary between countries. For example, companies from the UK and Germany contribute notably in terms of job creation, followed by those from the USA, Romania, and the Netherlands.

Foreign investor companies at the park span sectors like software development, data services, consulting, and design. The majority are small-sized with under 49 employees, with an emphasis on exporting their services internationally.

In just five years, the park has grown significantly as a hub that concentrates expertise and policies focused on supporting emerging technologies and fostering an innovation ecosystem. By bringing together partners across strategic technology sectors, it provides a dynamic environment for ideas to develop. Ongoing aims are to further enable innovation opportunities through operational enhancements, partnerships, and a welcoming ecosystem that allows new technologies and companies to thrive.
