Social media CEOs Senate hearing moved to Jan. 31

The United States Senate Judiciary Committee revealed on Wednesday in a statement that the CEOs of social media platforms, among which are Meta Platforms Inc.'s Mark Zuckerberg, X's Linda Yaccarino, TikTok's Shou Zi Chew, Snap Inc.'s Evan Spiegel, and Discord Inc.'s Jason Citron will be appearing at a hearing on January 31, 2024.

They were originally scheduled to testify in front of the Senate on December 6, 2023. The hearing will be dealing with protecting children online. Following subpoenas, certain companies weren't initially complying with the request, the committee explained. However, "now that all five companies are cooperating, we look forward to hearing from their CEOs," the committee asserted.

Previously, the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee stated that "Big Tech's failure to police itself at the expense of our kids cannot go unanswered."
