NBS: Manufacturing in China slightly down in November

The manufacturing sector in China saw a slight decrease in activity in November compared to October, according to a report by the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP) and the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Thursday. The manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) was at 49.4, down by 0.1 points from October and missing estimates. The equipment and high-tech manufacturing grew in November, with their PMIs at 51.6 and 51.2 respectively, up by 0.9 and 2 points month-on-month. New orders were down 0.1 points to 49.4, while new export orders fell by 0.5 points to 46.3%.

Meanwhile, the non-manufacturing PMI came in at 50.2, falling 0.4 points from October. Construction activity added 1.5 points to 55, with the supply and demand of housing construction on the rise. New orders in non-manufacturing grew by 0.5 points to 47.2 in November.
