US diplomat Henry Kissinger dies aged 100

United States diplomat and scholar Henry Kissinger died at his home in Connecticut at the age of 100, his geopolitical consulting firm Kissinger Associates announced.

Born in southern Germany in 1923, he came to America in 1938, serving in the US Army during the Second World War. He served as national security advisor and secretary of State in the Nixon and Ford administrations. He received a Nobel Peace Prize in 1973 for his role in ceasefire negotiations during the Vietnam War. He remained active until his death, writing 21 books on national security matters and lately focusing on the "implications of artificial intelligence," according to Kissinger Associates.
