Asia trades mostly lower after PMI data

Major stock indexes in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly lower on the last day of the week as investors closely followed the most recent PMI data from China and Japan. China's manufacturing sector saw a return to growth, reaching a three-month peak of 50.7, while Japan's sector continued to contract.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite added 0.09% at 7:06 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite was 0.06% lower a minute later. At 7:22 am CET, South Korea’s Kospi Composite plunged 1.15%, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng declined by 0.61% at the same time.

At the close of their trading session, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.20% and Japan's Nikkei 225 decreased 0.17% concurrently. The dollar traded 0.12% below the yen at 7:21 am CET, selling for 148.05900.
