German trade surplus up to €17.8B in October

Germany's calendar and seasonally adjusted trade surplus stood at €17.8 billion in October, up from €16.5 billion reported in the previous month, according to the data released by the country's Federal Statistical Office Destatis on Monday.

Exports landed at €126.4 billion in October, declining 0.2% from the month prior and 8.1% lower compared to October 2022. Meanwhile, imports decreased by 1.2% on a monthly basis and fell by 16.3% annually to stand at €108.6 billion in October 2023.

Germany's exports to other European Union countries dropped by 2.7% and imports from those countries contracted by 2.8% in October compared to the previous month.
