Swiss inflation down to 1.4% in November

Switzerland's annual inflation rate came in at 1.4% in November, the country's Federal Statistical Office revealed in its report released on Monday. The figure was below 1.7% registered in September and October, as well as analysts' expectations.

Month-on-month, the consumer price index (CPI) declined by 0.2% to land at 106.2 points. The report noted that the drop came amid lower prices for accommodation and tourist programs, fuels, heating oil, and fruiting vegetables. On the other hand, a rise in housing rentals and imputed rents for owner-occupied dwellings was observed.

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) reached 106.17 points, going up by 1.6% on an annual basis and decreasing by 0.5% on a monthly one.
