US trade deficit up to $64.3 billion in October

The United States goods and services deficit rose to $64.3 billion in October, increasing by 5.1% compared to September, according to a report by the Bureau of Economic Analysis released on Wednesday. The trade deficit widened more than analysts predicted.

Exports decreased by 1% on a monthly basis to $258.8 billion, while imports increased by 0.2% to $323 billion in October compared to September.

Year-to-date, trade deficit was down by $161.4 billion or 19.8% from the same period in 2022. Exports rose by $28 billion or 1.1%, and imports dropped by $133.4 billion or 4.0%.
